The Guardian Story
2010–2012 – The Beginning of Guardian
Following the Canterbury earthquakes, demand for trench shoring surged. A dedicated trench safety yard was established — marking the beginning of Guardian branded products.
2013–2018 – Growing Civil Capability
Trench shield hire and sales expanded rapidly as civil contractors relied on Guardian systems to keep teams safe on site.
2023 – Auckland Hire Yard Expansion
A new Auckland site enabled Guardian to strengthen North Island hire capability and provide faster access to trench shields.
2023 – Guardian Becomes a Standalone Brand
Recognising the distinct needs of civil customers, Guardian was elevated from a sub-brand to a dedicated trench safety brand operating alongside TransQuip.
2025 – Wellington Yard Opens
Guardian Civil expanded into Wellington, opening a strategically located yard to better support lower North Island civil contractors.
Today – Specialist Trench Safety Partner
Guardian operates multi-yard trench shield hire and sales across New Zealand, focused on lightweight aluminium systems and exceptional service to civil contractors.
